  • <p>I will put the questions on the remaining stages of the Treasury Laws Amendment (Making Multinationals Pay Their Share&#8212;Integrity And Transparency) Bill 2023. The question now is that the bill be read a second time.</p>
  • The majority voted in favour of [amendment 2383](https://www.openaustralia.org.au/senate/?id=2024-03-27.181.1) introduced by Pauline Hanson's One Nation Party, which means it passed and will now be included in the bill.

  • >> *(1) Despite the amendments made by Part 1 of this Schedule, the old law continues to apply in relation to assessments for income years starting on or after 1 July 2023 for entities that are Australian plantation forestry entities for a period that is all or part of the income year, as if the amendments had not been made.*
