<p>At the request of Senators Cash and Paterson, I move:</p>
<p class="italic">That, following the passage of the bill, the following matter be referred to the Parliamentary Joint Committee on Intelligence and Security for inquiry and report by 14 March 2024:</p>
<p class="italic">The operation, effectiveness and implications of the amendments made by the Australian Citizenship Amendment (Citizenship Repudiation) Bill 2023.</p>

<p>The question before the Senate is that the motion moved by Senator Askew, standing in the names of Senators Cash and Paterson, regarding a reference to the Parliamentary Joint Committee on Intelligence and Security, be agreed to.</p>
