•
The document sought is the subject of an application under the Freedom of Information Act. On the basis of damage to international relations and that certain information was communicated in confidence by a foreign government, a Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade decision-maker found that some of the information in the document was exempt from release in accordance with the provisions under the act. The Administrative Appeals Tribunal is reviewing the department's decision, and it would be inappropriate to comment on matters before the tribunal. Given this matter is still before the tribunal, the motion should not be supported by the Senate.
