- > *(a) the Senate requires the Minister representing the Prime Minister to attend the Senate at 9.30 am on Thursday, 10 February 2022 to provide a detailed explanation as to why the Minister for Senior Australians and Aged Care Services remains the Minister for Senior Australians and Aged Care Services;*

- > *(b) any senator may move to take note of the explanation required by paragraph (a); and*
- >
- > *(c) any motion under paragraph (b) may be debated for no longer than 30 minutes, shall have precedence over all business until determined, and senators may speak to the motion for not more than 5 minutes each.*

<p>Minister Colbeck has supported and always will support the important work of the aged-care sector. Since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic, the Australian government has provided more than $2.5 billion to support senior Australians in aged care. More than $1.5 billion of this investment has been made available to support the aged-care workforce. The Australian government is determined to ensure a safe environment exists in aged-care facilities and is continuing to work with aged-care providers and state and territory public health authorities to support arrangements to manage infection control and COVID-19 outbreaks in aged care.</p>
