<p class="speaker">Peter Whish-Wilson</p><p>Madam Acting Deputy President, with the Senate's indulgence, I again seek leave to recommit the vote on business of the Senate notices of motion Nos 1 and 2, in the names of Senator Waters and Senator McAllister.</p><p>Leave granted.</p>- The majority voted in favour of stopping two current regulations (see below) from having legal force. In other words, they voted in favour of *disallowing* the regulations. Queensland Senator [Larissa Waters](https://theyvoteforyou.org.au/people/senate/queensland/larissa_waters) (Greens), who introduced the motions, [explained their purpose](https://www.openaustralia.org.au/senate/?gid=2021-06-22.150.3):
- > *For anyone who may be listening outside of this godforsaken building, the government is seeking to spend yet more public money to prop up fossil fuels. Sadly, we're sensing a bit of a theme with this government, which loves to splash around taxpayer money to its big donors who make those generous contributions and exact policy outcomes that suit their corporate bottom lines and now exact yet more public support. So tonight we're seeking to disallow the government from giving yet more money to the fossil fuel sector.*
- This division is the second time that these motions have been voted on, after Tasmanian Senator [Peter Whish-Wilson](https://theyvoteforyou.org.au/people/senate/tasmania/peter_whish-wilson) (Greens) asked for re-vote as he missed [the first](https://theyvoteforyou.org.au/divisions/senate/2021-06-22/12) unintentionally.
- Because these motions were passed, the two regulations will no longer have legal force.
