Description

James McGrath

I move government business motion No. 2:

- The majority voted in favour of a [motion](https://www.openaustralia.org.au/senate/?id=2017-09-07.31.2) introduced by Queensland Senator [James McGrath](https://theyvoteforyou.org.au/people/senate/queensland/james_mcgrath) (LNP), which means it was successful.

That the provisions of paragraphs (5) to (8) of standing order 111 not apply to the following bills, allowing them to be considered during this period of sittings:

Gavin Marshall

Senator Siewert?

Rachel Siewert

Could I indicate that the Greens would like to vote differently on some of the bills. Can the question be put separately, in two sections? We would like to vote on the Higher Education Support Legislation Amendment (A More Sustainable, Responsive and Transparent Higher Education System) Bill 2017, the Social Services Legislation Amendment (Payment Integrity) Bill 2017 and the Social Services Legislation Amendment (Welfare Reform) Bill 2017 separately from the rest. We want to split the motion.

Gavin Marshall

Is there any objection to those three bills being put to the vote separately? There is no objection. The question is that the motion that the Higher Education Support Legislation Amendment (A More Sustainable, Responsive and Transparent Higher Education System) Bill 2017, the Social Services Legislation Amendment (Payment Integrity) Bill 2017 and the Social Services Legislation Amendment (Welfare Reform) Bill 2017 be exempted from the cut-off be agreed to.
