<p>I move:</p>
<p class="italic">That the Senate—</p>
- The majority voted against a [motion](http://www.openaustralia.org.au/senate/?id=2017-02-13.185.1) introduced by Greens Senator [Sarah Hanson-Young](https://theyvoteforyou.org.au/people/senate/sa/sarah_hanson-young) (SA), which means it was unsuccessful.

- > *That the Senate—*
- > *(a) notes:*
- >> *(i) the Government's refusal to commit to the final two years of Gonski funding, which has established a funding cliff in 2018, will cut billions of dollars from Australian schools, and*
- >> *(ii) that some of the wealthiest private schools in Australia are over-funded while many public schools are struggling without adequate funding; and*
- > *(b) calls on the Turnbull Government to prioritise equality in Australian schools by committing to a genuine needs-based funding model.*
<p class="italic">(a) notes:</p>
<p class="italic">  (i) the Government's refusal to commit to the final two years of Gonski funding, which has established a funding cliff in 2018, will cut billions of dollars from Australian schools, and</p>
