<p class="speaker">Richard Di Natale</p><p>I move:</p><p class="italic">That the Senate—</p>- The majority voted against a [motion](http://www.openaustralia.org.au/senate/?id=2016-04-19.116.1) introduced by Greens Senator [Richard Di Natale](https://theyvoteforyou.org.au/people/senate/victoria/richard_di_natale). The motion called for the Government to create a national Anti-Corruption Commission.

- > *That the Senate—*
- > *(a) notes that:*
- >> *(i) corruption in any sector of society is unacceptable and threatens the fabric of our democracy, and*
- >> *(ii) the Government's attempt to legislate the Australian Building and Construction Commission is not about corruption, but the enforcement of anti-worker laws; and*
- > *(b) calls on the Government to immediately legislate to establish a national Anti-Corruption Commission to address corruption among public officials and politicians that threatens the fabric of our democracy.*

My understanding is that the motion that we moved meant that there was no request about formality.</p> <p class="speaker">Stephen Parry</p><p>Thank you, Senator Moore. That is a good clarification. We will deal with them without seeking formality and follow the order. We will go down each item. That motion has now been moved.
