[Senator Hanson-Young](https://theyvoteforyou.org.au/people/senate/sa/sarah_hanson-young), speaking on behalf of Senators [Collins](https://theyvoteforyou.org.au/people/senate/victoria/jacinta_collins), [Lazarus](https://theyvoteforyou.org.au/people/senate/queensland/glenn_lazarus), [Wang](https://theyvoteforyou.org.au/people/senate/wa/dio_wang), and [Lambie](https://theyvoteforyou.org.au/people/senate/tasmania/jacqui_lambie) put forward a motion commending and supporting the [Australian Human Rights Commission (AHRC)](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Australian_Human_Rights_Commission) and it's president. This motion comes following the [AHRC](http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Australian_Human_Rights_Commission) publishing it's report: [The Forgotten Children: National Inquiry into Children in Immigration Detention (2014)](https://www.humanrights.gov.au/our-work/asylum-seekers-and-refugees/publications/forgotten-children-national-inquiry-children).
The motion was then posed in the negative by the [President, Senator Perry](https://theyvoteforyou.org.au/people/senate/tasmania/stephen_parry), so anyone who disagreed with the motion would vote yes, those who agreed would vote no.
