Summary
EditThe majority voted against an amendment introduced by Greens Senator Sarah Hanson-Young. It would have amended a motion introduced previously by Labor Senator Kate Lundy with the following:(Read more about the motion and the proposed amendment in the debate here. At the end of the motion, add the following words:
"And calls on the Government to put in place a 12 month time limit on detention of an individual in Papua New Guinea."
