Description
The majority voted against an [http://www.openaustralia.org/senate/?gid=2009-11-26.196.1 amendment] introduced by Greens Senator [http://publicwhip-test.openaustraliafoundation.org.au/mp.php?mpn=Christine_Milne&mpc=Senate&house=senate Christine Milne]. This means that the motion was unsuccessful.
The motion was to amend the Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme Bill 2009 (No. 2) with the following:
''(1) Clause 3, page 3 (line 10), at the end of subclause (3), add “including the provision of financial support to developing countries for nationally appropriate mitigation actions and adaptation”.''
This would have added the phrase relating to financial support for developing countries to the objects clause, giving it greater significance within the bill.
