The Deputy Leader of the Opposition.</p> <p class="speaker">Richard Marles</p>- The majority voted in favour of a [motion](https://www.openaustralia.org.au/debate/?id=2021-06-03.111.1) "*that the Deputy Leader of the Opposition be no further heard.*" In other words, they voted to stop Corio MP [Richard Marles](https://theyvoteforyou.org.au/people/representatives/corio/richard_marles) (Labor) from speaking anymore in this debate. Motions like these are known as *gagging motions*.
