In parliamentary jargon, they voted to read the bill [for a third time](https://www.peo.gov.au/learning/fact-sheets/making-a-law.html).
- Since the bill has already passed in the Senate, it will now become law.
- ### What does this bill do?
- The bill creates mandatory minimum sentences and increases maximum penalties for the offences of trafficking firearms or parts of firearms both within Australia and between Australia and the rest of the world.
