- > *That so much of the [standing and sessional orders](https://www.peo.gov.au/learning/fact-sheets/standing-orders.html) be suspended as would prevent the Manager of Opposition Business from moving the following motion forthwith:*

- > *That the House:*
- >
- > *(1) Notes that on the backpacker tax the Prime Minister has:*
- >
- >> *(a) gone from zero per cent to 32.5 per cent;*
- >>
- >> *(b) to 19 per cent;*
- >>
- >> *(c) threatened 32.5 per cent;*
- >>
- >> *(d) then to 15 per cent;*
- >>
- >> *(e) threatened 32.5 per cent again; and*
- >>
- >> *(f) been unwilling to accept the sensible compromise put forward by the Labor Party; and*
- >
- > *(2) therefore, condemns the Prime Minister for preferring to hurt rural and regional Australia and the tourism industry with a 32.5 per cent tax rate instead of accepting a sensible compromise.*
